High Country Newfoundland Club

The High Country Newfoundland Club is a Colorado-based group that promotes the Newfoundland dog breed in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico. They asked for an original design to be used to promote a water test event in which the dogs are measured in their ability to perform human life-saving techniques. The six-color design encompasses the powerful, determined movement of these amazing dogs as they work in an environment that is completely familiar to them, in the water with their people.

The application of a variety of filter techniques using Adobe Illustrator produced this image.
The original artwork created using Adobe Illustrator had well over 20 indivdual colors and shades. Part of the challenge was to reduce this to a respectable number to control cost of production. The final design would have six colors incorporating two additional shades using half tone techniques.
